Challah! The mystery photo is an upclose look at this knotted jewish bread. It took something like 18 hours to make (12 of that being overnight in the fridge) but it was worth it as it is light, delicious and challah-y. Challah!
Oh my god. I was totally going to guess challah. I really was. But then I thought challah had to have that glossy sheen on top and yours looked so matte. So I changed my mind. I should have stuck to my guns!! Curses, foiled again. It does look great though, I love challah.
haha. I ran out of eggs, so no glossy sheen. Turns out brushing bread with a beaten egg is what causes them to be shiny. Instead, I brushed them with milk and they were a little browner than expected.
